July 3, 2007 ~ NEW STATE SMALL MOUTH RECORD ~ 9.83 lbs.
Ione, CA, jULY 3, 2007: Harold Hardin, a Stockton fisherman who has been fishing Pardee Lake for the past 40 years did something that no other angler in the State of California has been able to do in 31 years: He caught a 9.83 lb. Smallmouth Bass that eclipsed the current state record by nearly ¾ of a pound. The old record of 9.1 was caught by Tom Brady in 1976 at Trinity Lake. Mr. Hardin was fishing just off of Leveque Point at the mouth of the Mokelumne River using charcoal colored swim bait. According to Mr. Hardin, shortly after landing the big fish, he hooked into another Smallmouth and just before he was about to land the 2nd fish, it made one last dash for freedom and snapped the line. “The one that I lost was definitely a larger fish than the one I landed” stated Mr. Hardin. Harold estimated that after seeing the 2nd fish up close to his boat that it was at least 11+ lbs. Mr. Hardin stated that there are Smallmouth Bass in Pardee Lake that are substantially larger than his record Bass

March 22, 2007 ~ NEW LAKE RECORD ~ Large Mouth Black Bass ~ 13.4 lb
Jack Billington a well known Bass fisherman from the Ione, Lake Camanche area hooked and landed this PARDEE LAKE RECORD Large Mouth Bass Thursday afternoon 3/22/07. The big boy tipped the Pardee “certified” scales at 13.4 oz.  Jack was using a Basstrix Fat Minnow Perch on a stand up blade runner jig head.  Jack was accompanied by his fishing partner Rick Pierce who hooked this beautiful 8 lb. Large Mouth. Rick was using a blade runner chartreuse and white craw jig.  The final tally of their five biggest fish was 39 lbs. Now that’s a day to remember in any fisherman’s life. Although these master anglers were not specific as to the location of their big catches, Jack said that they were in the main lake adjacent to the dam. To make this a perfect day for all concerned including those big Bass, Jack and Rick released ALL of the fish back into the lake for other anglers to catch another day.  Congratulations to them both. Their sportsmanship is to be commended.

March 4, 2007 ~ NEW LAKE RECORD ~ Smallie Black Bass 8.94 lb. Ryan Leveque is 15 years old and has been fishing w/his mom and dad since he was two. On Sunday, March 4, 2007, at 7:30 in the morning, Ryan hooked a Small Mouth Bass atPardee Lake. He was using 4lb. test line and a “very” light pole. The fish bent the pole almost in two and it took him about 30 minutes to land the fish and on multiple occasions the Bass ran the line out to the backing. It's evident that this young man is a very accomplished young angler. The Small Mouth weighed in @ 8.94 lbs. After the ceremonial weigh in and picture taking, he took the fish back to the same spot where he caught it and released it as it was a female full of eggs. Pardee Lake management has renamed the spot on the lake where Ryan hooked this big girl “Leveque Point” in honor of the fish, the young mans angling abilities and his great sense of sportsmanship. The fish is a lake record (the old record was 8.6 lbs).
