Welcome to Pardee Lake Recreation

Pardee Lake Recreation, Inc. would like to say Thank You to all of the sponsors and volunteers of the 2010 Annual Kids Fishing Derby. Your help and support is greatly appreciated.

Due to some unfortunate events, this year’s derby did not end the way we had intended.  We would like to formally apologize to the children who participated in the event.  Our desire for the event is to allow children to learn about and develop a love for the sport of fishing, not to be shown some of societies uglier qualities.  We have learned a lot from this year’s event and will be making changes if the event happens again in the future.

Again, our sincerest apologies to all who attended this year’s event.

Important Quaga Mussel Quarantine Information

Nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range of Northern California, Pardee Lake is among one of the most beautiful settings the Mother Lode landscape has to offer and is an easy drive from valley and bay area locations. The perfect outing for that day or weekend of picnicking, camping, or just fun relaxing time for the entire family.

The entire Pardee Lake Recreation Area is noted for its cleanliness and top notch maintenance, as well as, our ongoing improvements. First time visitors nearly always comment on this aspect of our operation. Pardee Lake management and our experienced staff strive to provide visitors with "quality outdoor recreation". Pardee Reservoir Recreation Area first opened to the public in 1958 and is open daily from the first Friday in February through the last Sunday in October each season.

When Pardee first opened, a state law was enacted prohibiting body-water contact. Hence, your fishing or boating experience will not be disturbed by water skiers, jet skis, or lake swimmers. Fishing, boating, camping, picnicking and enjoying the swimming pools are the primary recreational activities.  Come see for yourself and join in on the fun. Pardee Lake  offers a wide range of recreational opportunities on both land and water.

The many amenities that Pardee Lake Recreation offers includes:  Fishing, Boating, Camping, Hiking & picnicking, Boat rentals, ten lane boat launch ramp, new state of the art fish cleaning station, Developed overnight Camping, 2 swimming pools, RV sites with full hook-ups, Laundry & hot showers, Flush restrooms, Coffee shop, Store, Gas station, Full service marina and Wildlife galore!

Weekly plants of 1½ to 5 pound Rainbow Trout have produced an excellent cold water fishery. Kokanee Salmon, small and large mouth Bass, Catfish, and various species of sunfish are also found in abundance.

Wildlife abounds within the boundaries of Pardee Lake. Deer, wild Turkey, geese and other migratory birds, squirrels, rabbits, and quail are just a few that hikers, picnickers, and campers will enjoy.

East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) oversees the operation and maintenance of facilities, determines recreation fees and establishes rules and regulations.  The recreation facilities are operated by Pardee Lake Recreation, Inc., a concessionaire under long term contract with EBMUD.
